In July 2019, legislation was passed to make Bermuda an even more attractive destination for superyacht visits. The Superyachts and Other Vessel (Miscellaneous) Act 2019 has allowed such vessels to charter in Bermuda waters through local agencies, like Bermuda Yacht Services.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
- Local agent required (BYS)
- Vessel must be 24 meters or larger
- Vessel must be commercially compliant, however, it may be under private registration
- Charter tax is 6%
- Minimum charter period: 24 hours
- Maximum guests: 12
